We are seeking to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow on a two-year fixed term contract. You will be based at the Mathematical Sciences Research Centre (MSRC), which is part of the School of Mathematics and Physics at Queen’s University Belfast (Belfast, UK). You will use kinetic transport equations and various scaling techniques to derive new, more realistic models of cancer invasion. You will analyse some of the equations rigorously, e.g. by proving the existence of solutions and convergence to a scaling limit. You will work in a close contact with Principal investigator Dr Anna Zhigun.
This research is part of the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) New Investigator Award grant-funded project entitled “Modelling and analysis of cancer invasion with flux-saturation mechanisms”. This exciting multidisciplinary project aims at using mathematics to gain a better understanding of cancer spread.
This is a fixed term contract for 2 years or until 30 June 2023, whichever is soonest.
The successful candidate must have, and you should clearly demonstrate this in your CV/Cover letter:
