Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the upcoming conference "PDEs under pressure and applications in life science", that will take place from October 12 to 16, 2026, at the Institute of Mathematics of Toulouse, France.
This conference will bring together experts and enthusiasts on PDEs modelling pressure effects in sciences - and especially in living systems. Topics include degenerate or nonlinear diffusion, cross-diffusion, fluid-mechanical PDEs, kinetic theory, nonlocal and aggregation models, congestion models and stochastic approaches. Talks will combine theoretical analysis, modeling, and interdisciplinary applications. We expect the participation of a vast audience, including early career researchers.
There will be several plenary talks, a contributed poster session and three mini-courses by
-
Maria Bruna (University of Oxford)
-
Sophie Hecht (Sorbonne Université)
-
Bertrand Maury (Université Paris-Sud)
Further details can be found here:https://indico.math.cnrs.fr/event/15733/
Participation is free, but registration is required by September 15th. Financial support is available for students and early career researchers upon selection. The application deadline for the financial support is July 3rd.
This event is part of the thematic semester “Interacting particles, PDEs and applications”, held at Institut de Mathématiques de Toulouse, from April to December 2026. https://indico.math.cnrs.fr/category/816/
We would greatly appreciate it if you could share this message with any colleagues or students who may be interested.
We hope to see you in Toulouse in October!
Best wishes,
The Organizing Committee,
Ariane Trescases (Toulouse), Marina Ferreira (Toulouse), Michèle Romanos (Lyon) and Pierre Gervais (Toulouse)
