A postdoctoral research fellowship is available in the field of in-host modelling of viral dynamics, co-supervised by Stanca Ciupe (Director of Center for Mathematics of Biosystems at Virginia Tech, US) and Gergely Röst (Chair of Applied and Numerical Mathematics, University of Szeged, Hungary).
The primary location of the work is in Szeged, Hungary, withsome on-site visits to Virginia Tech. Applications are welcome from recent PhD graduates, with experience in infectious disease modelling.
The applicant must have legal status to start the work in the EU. The starting date is flexible, but the Hungarian part of the fellowship will be concluded by 28 February, 2026. If additional funding is opening up, the work can be continued at Virginia Tech afterwards.

Building complex multicellular agent-based biological simulations (virtual tissues) in a sharable, extensible and reproducible way is challenging but critical to advancing research and enhancing deployment.
This one day workshop will offer tutorials on using popular multicellular modelling frameworks which support rapid simulation construction and distribution and a multicellular model reproducibility hackathon which will explore best practice for model design and distribution.

Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow Position Summary: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the field of mathematical and computational biology in the recently created Mathematical & Computational Biosciences Collective (MCBC) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years, subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. The start date is September 1, 2025, or earlier. Essential Functions: Conduct research in mathematical and computational biology at the interface of theory and experiments, take part in seminars, group meetings, journal clubs, help mentor students, and other research activities of the MCBC and the associated Departments of Mathematical and Biological Sciences. The ideal candidate would have an interest in building successful interactions with experimental scientists and experience in one or more of the following areas: (i) neuroscience, (ii) systems biology / biochemical systems, (iii) collective behavior, and (iv) machine learning / artificial intelligence.
The successful candidate will be co-mentored by a theorist and an experimentalist and will have the opportunity to interact with researchers in the pharmaceutical industry, IBM Research, and other industrial partners. In addition to research duties, the Postdoctoral Fellow might have the opportunity to teach one course per semester, subject to availability.
